Canadian Federal All Hazards Risk Assessment

Systrem to calculate the risk of any hazard and used to satisfy the requirement of the Federal Emergency Management Act (2007) that Ministers of all Federal Government departments identify the "... risks that are within or related to his or her area of responsibility ..." The AHRA comprehensively assesses the impact and likelihood of malicious and non-malicious hazards and threats that Canada faces over a five year period. It assesses the risks in an integrated way as that may be more broadly effective in reducing vulnerability of people, economics and the environment.

Earthquake loss estimates for University of British Columbia

With UBC facilities management, estimate the potential losses at the University of British Columbia Campus from various model earthquake scenarios using the Hazus-MH loss estimation software and other evaluation tools developed by the UBC Earthquakes Engineering group. The analysis uses detailed information about the campus structures and infrastructure.

Integrated Research on Disaster Risk (IRDR) is a decade-long research programme co-sponsored by the International Council for Science (ICSU), the International Social Science Council (ISSC), and the United Nations International Strategy for Disaster Reduction (UNISDR). It is a global, multi-disciplinary approach to dealing with the challenges brought by natural disasters, mitigating their impacts, and improving related policy-making mechanisms.
